Course Description
Do you work in biology, medicine or pharmacy and need to analyse data with statistical methods? In this course, you will learn about essential biometric methods. While no advanced skills are required, basic statistical knowledge at the level of “Visualization of Lab Data with Excel” and elementary Excel know-how are advantageous.
What Are You Going to Learn?
This course introduces key statistical methods used in biology, medicine, and pharmacy. It covers statistical distributions, basic test theory (t-test), outlier and nonparametric tests, and analysis of variance (ANOVA), including experimental design, sample size, and repeated measures. The focus is on practical data analysis and sample comparison, with minimal mathematical formalism. Hands-on exercises are performed on PC using Excel and, optionally for added convenience, EasyStat macros.

Scientists in research and development who need to analyse their data with statistical methods
Excel and basic statistical knowledge is assumed (at least at the level of the course “Visualization of Lab Data with Excel”)
