Introduction to Multivariate Data Analysis
Multivariate data analysis techniques allow you to discover hidden relationships between many parameters in your data. Combinations of numerical methods and visualization tools are used, which allow for a quick and clear interpretation of these relationships. The emphasis is on graphical tools.
This course requires statistical knowledge at the level of "Visualization of Lab Data" or equivalent.
What will you learn ?Do you want to search for and investigate relationships between various quantities? With the most important methods of Multivariate Statistics you will learn how to identify the interesting structures in your data. Combinations of numerical methods and visualization tools are used, which allow for a quick and clear interpretation of relationships. The emphasis is on graphical tools. The methods and their application will be discussed using practical examples taken from chemical and pharmaceutical industry (dyestuff production, process quality, spectrography) but are applicable to other industries as well; there will be software demonstrations on the PC.
